| Dear Reader Week three is now almost behind us and it is apparent that everyone is becoming more accustomed to the lacrosse stick as the level of play has increased significantly. A few minor glitches with the schedule this week, the Midget B's going to 9 from 10 teams, Wednesday we had too many faciltiies operating so we had to postone one game at Century Arena. I guess these things are bound to happen when you pack so many games in such a short season. On Monday we began play at the
Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour and will play almost weekly there till
the end of the season. This is a fantastic facility; we hope you get the
opportunity to get out to Beausejour for a game or two. LACROSSE WEEKEND This weekend kicks off National Lacrosse Week with two days of activities here in Manitoba. Teams will be arriving from Thompson for 2 days of exhibition play with WMLA teams. Visit the MLA website for more info on Lacrosse Weekend activities. HIGH SCHOOL FIELD LACROSSE The high school field players take to the turf all day Saturday and Sunday at the Tyndall Park field. If you have never seen field lacrosse live here is your opportunity. Following is the schedule:
FALCONS WEEKEND ABUSE OF OFFICIALS Sadly, we have had 3 situations already this year where officials have found it necessary to issue "abuse of official" penalties. This is the most serious penalty you can receive, you will be immediately ejected from the current game and receive an indefinite suspension until the League Disciplinary Committee reviews the situation. This committee will then assign the appropriate penalty which can result in suspension from multiple games to a complete ban from the sport. The officials are there to enforce the rules of the game not to be abused and ridiculed. This behavior is totally unacceptable, DON'T DO IT! See Global Television on Monday May15th at 6:00 PM and again at 10:30 where Bruce Paton the Referee In Chief is interviewed regarding this and other topics relating to officiating lacrosse.
