Dear Reader

Week two has blown by and I know many of you are probably saying "wow that is a lot of lacrosse".  The field program began this week too so we see midget and bantam players running off the field to head for the box to play their second game of the night.

The Junior and Senior program is in full swing now as well, stop by the recently redesigned PLL website and see if one of these games fit into your schedule.

New Score Entry system
The WMLA has implemented a new score entry system for the timekeepers.  The minor officials can now log in to the WMLA scoring system and enter their scores online.  The system allows for the selection of the date and then presents the user with the games for that date.  Updating is as simple as clicking on the game and entering the score.  This new system will save lots of time, reduce errors and hopefully allow for faster posting of scores.  Timekeepers, you should have all received an email with your username and password, if you have not, please email .

RULE CHANGE

A rule change this year is the designation of checking from behind as a double minor penalty.  This infraction can result in devastating injuries, so the CLA has changed this to a 4 minute  double minor penalty and counts as 2 penalties toward the 5 penalty ejection limit.

GRYPHONS WEEKEND
This weekend is Gryphons Weekend with games going on at the East End Arena on both Saturday and Sunday.  Sagkeeng is also hosting games there on Saturday.   We hope you all get out and see some hot Lacrosse this weekend.

MIDGET B TEAM FOLDS

As a result of the loss of a number of players due to injuries and other activities, the Shamrocks 2 Midget B team has been collapsed.  The remaining players will be joining either the Midget A team or the remaining Midget B team.  This necessitates the rescheduling of the remaining games for this division.  It has been decided that games played against the Shamrocks 2 team thus far will be deemed exhibition and will not count toward the standings.  The schedule has been reworked beginning Monday May 8th.  All teams will play 14 regular season games as normal but many of the match-ups have been changed.  Please watch the WMLA website for the notification that the new schedule has been posted.

Sincerely yours,
